Algorithms Team Leader
Elop Division at Elbit Systems- a global leader in electro‑optic systems development- is seeking an experienced Algorithms Team Leader to guide one of our AI and Computer Vision development teams and help shape the technology powering next‑generation electro‑optical systems

We are looking for a leader who is both technological and practical - someone who lives and breathes algorithms, can translate cutting‑edge AI into real‑time operational products running on Edge hardware, and is excited to mentor engineers while remaining deeply involved in code and research
What You’ll Do
Leadership & Management
Lead and mentor a team of algorithm developers within the AI & Computer Vision group
Set priorities, guide technical execution, and ensure high‑quality algorithmic development
Foster a culture of innovation, curiosity, and engineering excellence
Collaborate closely with the Head of Algorithms and other team leaders to align goals and deliverables
Technology Development
Drive hands‑on development of Computer Vision and AI algorithms
Select tools, architectures, and methodologies that impact real‑time operational systems
Integrate cutting‑edge AI research with applied engineering in complex, multidisciplinary environments
Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and algorithmic decision‑making
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Work closely with R&D project managers, system engineers, and business units to design breakthrough algorithmic solutions
Support system‑level decisions from concept through fielded proof‑of‑concept implementations
Ensure smooth integration of algorithms with hardware, optics, and system constraints
Requirements
At least 5 years of hands‑on experience developing Computer Vision algorithms, with strong emphasis on Deep Learning / Machine Learning
Proven experience leading or mentoring engineers (formal team‑lead experience — a strong advantage)
Strong understanding of state‑of‑the‑art AI and Computer Vision methodologies and publications
B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields from a recognized institution
Excellent proficiency in Python and major development frameworks (PyTorch / TensorFlow / OpenCV)
Advantageous Qualifications
Experience deploying algorithms on Edge hardware and applying optimization techniques
Proficiency in C++ and Linux environments
Familiarity with CI/CD methodologies and data pipelines for model training
Experience working with multidisciplinary teams involving hardware, optics, and system engineering
Strong innovative mindset, technological curiosity, and ability to influence technical direction
