Senior System Engineer (SATCOM)
תאור משרה
Job description
We’re looking for a Senior System Engineer to lead end to end system definition, integration, and validation of satellite communication (SATCOM) solutions within our radio development portfolio.
You’ll translate operational needs into robust architecture, requirements, and interfaces; orchestrate multi disciplinary trade offs across RF, modem, embedded SW/FW, networking, and mechanical domains;
and drive lab/field integration toward production readiness.
What you’ll do
Own system engineering across the lifecycle—CONOPS, use cases, requirements, ICDs, architecture, and design reviews, through integration, verification, and qualification.
Collaborate across disciplines (RF, software, networking, cyber, mechanical, etc.) and with product/program teams to balance performance, cost, schedule, and risk.
Author SE deliverables: system specs, ICDs, test plans/procedures, acceptance criteria, user/ops considerations, and contribution to certification/qualification documentation.
Plan and manage lab and field trials: bring up, integration, performance & environmental testing; analyze results and drive corrective actions through cross functional teams.
What you’ll bring
Deep SATCOM expertise (GEO/MEO/LEO concepts, terminals vs. hubs, antennas/pointing & tracking, modem/waveform fundamentals, link budgets, BER/EB/N0, availability).
Proven system engineering experience delivering complex, multi disciplinary communication systems from early concept through integration and acceptance.
Excellent technical writing and communication skills; comfortable leading reviews and driving decisions across stakeholders.
Hands on with RF & modem/DSP fundamentals (filters, modulations such as QPSK/QAM, FEC, synchronization, timing) and system modeling (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink) – an advantage.
MANET experience (mobile ad hoc routing behaviors in contested, low capacity, high dynamics environments; protocol familiarity such as OLSR/BABEL/DSR; performance trade offs). – an advantage.
Tactical networks & communications knowledge (waveforms, soldier/vehicular/airborne radios, interoperability, voice/data services, LPI/LPD/AJ considerations). – an advantage.
Tooling: MATLAB/Simulink, OPNET (or equivalent), scripting (Python), RF test equipment and automation – an advantage.
Qualifications
BSc in Electrical/Communications/Computer Engineering (or related). MSc is an advantage.
5+ years in system engineering for communications systems (satellite and/or tactical radio).
Eligibility for security clearance.
