Job description

 

We are seeking a Senior System Engineer to lead the definition, integration, and validation of solutions that combine 5G cellular communications with our advanced radio portfolio.

In this role, you will leverage your expertise in 5G to architect and deliver innovative, multidisciplinary systems—working closely with internal teams and external partners as part of our open innovation strategy.

 

 

 

What You’ll Do

 

 

 

Lead system engineering across the lifecycle—from CONOPS, use cases, requirements, and ICDs, through architecture, design reviews, integration, verification, and qualification.

Define and integrate 5G cellular communication solutions into radio-based products, ensuring seamless interoperability and performance.

Collaborate across disciplines (RF, software, networking, mechanical, etc.) and with product/program teams.

Drive open innovation by working with external development groups, technology partners, and companies to evaluate and integrate new 5G technologies.

Author SE deliverables: system specs, ICDs, test plans/procedures, acceptance criteria, user/ops considerations, and contribute to certification/qualification documentation.

 

 

What You’ll Bring

 

 

Deep expertise in 5G cellular communications (5G NR, RAN, core network, slicing, MIMO, beamforming, mmWave, network architecture, protocol stack, QoS, security).

Proven system engineering experience delivering complex, multidisciplinary communication systems from early concept through integration and acceptance.

Experience integrating 5G and radio communication systems (hybrid solutions, interoperability, cross-domain architectures).

Excellent technical writing and communication skills; comfortable leading reviews and driving decisions across stakeholders.

Experience with 5G network protocols (e.g., 3GPP standards, O-RAN, network slicing, MEC)—an advantage.

Open innovation mindset: experience working with external partners, startups, or research groups to evaluate and integrate new technologies.

Tooling: MATLAB/Simulink, network simulators, scripting (Python), RF/5G test equipment and automation—an advantage.

 

 

 

Qualifications

 

 

 

BSc in Electrical/Communications Engineering (or related). MSc is an advantage.

5+ years in system engineering for cellular or advanced communications systems.

Eligibility for security clearance.
